Visiting a killing fields museum today. Very emotional and brought me to tears. I didn’t take many pictures as it didn’t feel right. The two I did take are the stupa to commemorate the dead, and the killing tree where many children lost their lives.
So sad. But with all museums / memorials like this around the world, they keep the victims memories alive and hopefully one day mankind will learn from past atrocities x
It makes you wonder how it can happen. But when people are poor and desperate, with no education, they will follow in the hope of something better. When the Khmer rouge came along, Cambodia was in the middle of a civil war, so it looked like the answer, and they embraced the Khmer rouge and their promise of a better life.
Very poignant reminders of what happened,
